Shadowing is a vital part of onboarding. In a physical office, a new support agent might pull up a chair next to a senior agent to watch them handle live tickets. In a remote world, "shadowing" translates to "watching a screen share" on Zoom or Teams for hours at a time.
The "Super Admin" Leak
Here is the problem: The senior agent likely has "Super Admin" or "Manager" level permissions. The new hire does not. By watching the senior agent's unmasked screen, the new hire effectively gains visual access to data they aren't cleared to see yet.
This might include refund capabilities, user geolocation data, raw database IDs, or internal notes about high-value customers. This violates the Principle of Least Privilege (PoLP).
Enforcing "Training Mode"
Security teams can enforce a "Training Mode" policy via SecurePresent. When senior staff share screens for training purposes, specific high-sensitivity fields remain permanently blurred.
This allows the new hire to learn the process (where to click, what to say) without ever seeing the raw data. It allows for effective mentorship without compromising security protocols.
